Paul Haffey Design currently is focusing on the hospitality sector where he has recently completed many projects across Ireland including the The Draft House Gastropub, Standhill, County Sligo. He is one of the top 10 interior designers in Ireland in 2020 and perhaps one to watch in the future...

Galway 2020 - European City of Culture


Galway 2020 begins next week...Galway is the European City of Culture for 2020! The year-long event will follow a theme of language, landscape, and migration. Events are broken up into seasons with the opening event running between the 1st and 8th of February. Less than an hour from Limerick this is well worth a visit at some point during 2020.  

As part of Galway 2020 'Drop Everything' is a weekend architectural festival on the Aran Island of Inis Oirr which runs in May. Encompassed in this event is 'Studio Drop' which will look at affordable sustainable and DIY design and building and create an off-grid temporary moveable studio space. Workshops in construction design and techniques will be available. Find out more at Studio Drop

Architect #13: Scullion Architects



This competition entry for a writer's retreat called 'Tairseach' was designed by Scullion Architects. Located in a forest in Donegal the writer is concealed in this invisible structure which is clad with mirror on the exterior. Scullion Architects are an award-winning firm based in Dublin.

The Interiors Association NEW MUNSTER CHAPTER



The Interiors Association inaugural event of the Munster Chapter will be held on January 31st at Flair Showers, Mallow, Co Cork between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. This training morning provides the opportunity to develop skills in bathroom planning and introduces Interiors Association members to the extensive Flair product range

ITINERARY
Tea & Coffee available on arrival. 
You will also meet the Flair commercial team who are happy to help with any upcoming projects.
Topics for discussion will include:
·        Introduction and presentation on Flair Ireland
·        Technical discussion on shower door and wetroom planning
·        Top tips when designing the shower area
·        Flair Commercial specification supports
·        Looking ahead: 2020 bathroom trends
·        Showroom visit and product demonstrations. 
·        Q & A
Lunch will be provided by Flair.

Designer #12: AvroKO




AvroKO was formed in 2001 and has offices in New York, San Francisco, Bangkok, and London. They specialise in interior commercial fit-outs predominantly for the hospitality sector. These images are taken of AvroKO's refurbishment of 'The Scott' a resort in Arizona, America. The style is a mixture of elements from Bauhaus and Havana/Cuban inspired interiors. The resort is full of multi-layered spaces that have been stylised with great attention to detail and offer tones of atmosphere.

Architect #12: GKMP Architects


GKMP Architects were Winner Best House Extension RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2019 for their design of a Victorian house and garden at Vavasour Square. A clever extension where light is filling a new open plan living area for a family. Simple and inexpensive materials are used in this airy space.

WGSN X Eporta Trend Report 2019-20




WGSN (the pioneering trend authority for the lifestyle, hospitality and the interiors industries) have identified a number of trends for 2020  such as Bilingual or Globilisation where the fusion of two cultural influences side by side are distilled into one concept.
